Roll your own — double disc

Testing has shown that the size of the object coming out of the printer does not always match the stl file input. Possible cause is shrinkage as the print cools. This correction factor is applied to compensate. This is a simple multipier, e.g. "1.005" increases the disc's size by 0.5%.

To test: download and print this test file and then measure its diameter with a pair of calipers or a micrometer. The diameter should be 40mm. If not, compute 40/D (where D is the diameter you measured) to obtain the scale correction factor.

Note: if you generate an OpenSCAD file, you can edit the correction factor in the file. If you generate an STL file, can scale it in your slicer (in which case I suggest using scale factor 1.0 here). If you order a printed disc, I will handle the correction factor myself.

Standard Elna discs have a certain amount of overhang which can be achallenge for 3d printers. The options to deal with this are as follows:

• Ignore — ignore the problem, hope the printer can handle it.
• Remove — remove the overhang, removing the problem completely
• 75° — 75° slope
• 60° — 60° slope

Note: If you order a printed disc, I will handle the overhang myself.
